WINTERHAVEN, Fla..- The College of Saint Rose scored seven unanswered runs to come back to defeat the University of Sciences today 7-3 at the Auburndale Softball Complex.
The Golden Knights (2-7) trailed early after USciences scored three times in the third inning, with a two-run home run by sophomore outfielder Gabriella Polera serving as the big hit for the Devils in the frame.
With one out and the bases loaded in the fifth for Saint Rose, freshman infielder
Reeghan Neary lined a triple to right field to bring all three Golden Knights around to score.

Madison Chandler immediately followed with an RBI double to plate Neary and put Saint Rose ahead 4-3.

Alysa Houghtaling helped generate some insurance runs for the Golden Knights in the sixth, with Chandler providing an RBI single and Houghtaling knocking in two more with a double later in the inning to give Saint Rose the 7-3 lead that held as the final score.

Isabella Milazzo earned the win in the circle after striking out seven in 4.0 innings. Freshman pitcher

In the day's opening game, the Golden Knights were edged 4-2 by Trevecca Nazarene.
Trailing 4-0 in the fifth inning, Saint Rose got on the board with a pinch hit RBI single by Neary.
The rally continued with a run-scoring double off the bat of freshman infielder
Emma Schaub that plated sophomore infielder
Colette Cohen and set the Golden Knights up with runners on second and third with one out.
With Schaub standing on second as the potential tying run, the Trojans escaped the inning after back-to-back strikeouts by sophomore outfielder
Ciana Phillips and junior outfielder
Morgan Tyrrell.
Senior outfielder Lenna Robinson went 2-for-4 with three steals and two runs scored to lead Trevecca Nazarene (10-6) to the victory.
The Golden Knights continue at THE Spring Games tomorrow with a 10:00 am meeting against West Virginia Wesleyan followed by a 12:15 pm tilt with the College of Staten Island.
