AUGUSTA, Ga. – The College of Saint Rose rallied from a 2-0 deficit, but host Augusta scored twice in the fifth and three more times in the sixth to upend the Golden Knights 7-4 earlier today.

Derek Haughey lifted a bases loaded sacrifice fly and freshman left fielder
James Ward smacked an RBI base hit to tie the game 2-2 in the third. Saint Rose (4-7) took its only lead in the fifth when freshman designated hitter
Niko Mokanos drew a bases loaded walk to make it 3-2.

However, the Jaguars (7-10) answered with its runs in the fifth and sixth, before the Golden Knights added one more in the eighth when sophomore shortstop
Jared Reed and junior first baseman
Jack McDonald both doubled.

McDonald, Ward, and Reed all finished with two hits to lead the Saint Rose offense, while sophomore left-hander
Carson Stewart and graduate student right-handers
Brian Wojichowski and
Greg Allard combined to throw 2.2 innings of shutout ball out of the bullpen.

Senior center fielder Skylor Murphy went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a pair of RBI for the Jaguars (7-10).

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights are scheduled to play the first of four games over a three-day period in Wilson, N.C. Thursday with a 2:00 pm contest versus Alderson Broaddus. Meanwhile, Augusta has a three-game Peach Belt Conference series versus Young Harris College this weekend.
