WINTER HAVEN, FLA.- The College of Saint Rose utilized a big fourth inning to defeat Walsh University 7-3 to wrap the second day of action at THE Spring Games.Â
The Golden Knights scored five runs in the fourth to flip a 3-1 deficit into a 6-3 lead. Junior outfielder
Morgan Tyrrell and sophomore outfielder
Madison Chandler each knocked in two runs in the inning to provide the key hits for Saint Rose against the Cavaliers (1-1).
Tyrrell delivered a single with the bases loaded to plate freshmen outfielders
Mattison Muller and
Hannah Breen. Chandler immediately followed with her second double of the day to bring around sophomore outfielder
Ciana Phillips and Tyrrell.
Freshman pitcher
Isabella Milazzo went the distance for the Golden Knights, striking out five and scattering five hits over 7.0 innings to earn the win in the circle.
Saint Rose (1-5) fell to Edinboro 7-4 to begin the day, with the Fighting Scots scoring six times in the first to stake a big lead. The Golden Knights committed six errors in the opener, including three in the first inning, to aid the Edinboro onslaught.Â
Saint Rose continues play at THE Spring Games tomorrow with a 1:30 pm first pitch against Mercyhurst before facing the University of Mary at 6:00 pm.
