FEDULLO AND TOWNES LEAD SAINT ROSE TO A SENIOR NIGHT VICTORY OVER AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL

ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose defeated Northeast-10 Conference rival American International 56-42 on Senior Night this evening in Nolan Gymnasium.

Fifth-year forward Nina Fedullo scored 12 of her team-high 18 points in the first half to help Saint Rose take a 32-23 lead into the intermission.

The Saint Rose defense locked down on the Yellow Jackets in the final two quarters, holding American International to 11.1 percent (3-for-27) shooting throughout the second half, including 0-for-12 on field goal attempts across the final frame.

"This was an awesome team win and it was really great that our players left it all on the court to pay tribute to the senior class. It was a great way to end on hour home court," said Saint Rose Head Coach Whitney Edwards.

The College recognized the careers of Fedullo, Becca Townes, and Shamim Wambere in a ceremony prior to tip-off.

Townes logged an all-around performance of 10 points, nine rebounds, four assists, four steals, and four blocks for Saint Rose (5-16/4-13 NE10). Sophomore guard Isabel Sanchez tallied six points and seven boards and junior forward Makaela Johnson added eight points off the bench.

Fedullo was active on the glass with eight rebounds and sophomore guard Ashia Smith distributed five assists to lead the Golden Knight offense. Wambere and freshman guard Ryley Blasetti recorded three steals apiece.

American International (10-14/7-10 NE10) was led by junior guard Kyla Smith with 19 points.

Saint Rose and the Yellow Jackets meet again to conclude the regular season tomorrow night in Springfield, Mass. at 5:30 pm.
