RINDGE, N.H.- The College of Saint Rose dropped a four-set match to Franklin Pierce tonight, with the host Ravens claiming the Northeast-10 Conference victory after taking the first, third, and fourth sets.
Sophomore middle blockers Karleigh Fripp and Julia Cavalcanti landed 10 attacks each to lead Saint Rose in the setback.
Junior outside hitter Jessica Vargas and freshman middle blocker Teresa Moulder recorded 9 and 8 kills, respectively, and setter Valeria Jorge tallied 39 assists to round out the Golden Knight attack.
Defensively, Saint Rose received five total blocks from Cavalcanti, while Fripp, Moulder, and Jorge registered three each.
A trio of Golden Knights lifted 15 or more digs as well, with sophomore libero Katelyn Atchinson topping the effort with 16, and Vargas and Jorge totaling 15 apiece.
Franklin Pierce senior outside hitter Mariah Robles lead all players with 14 kills.
Looking ahead, Saint Rose concludes the regular season with a 1:00 pm matchup against Southern New Hampshire in Manchester, N.H.
Notes: Jorge ranks second in the league with 872 assists, while Vargas is tied for fourth in the conference with 281 kills…Cavalcanti is also first in the NE10 with 58 aces...The Golden Knights are second in the conference with 207 total team blocks, with Cavalcanti (85), Fripp (70), and Jorge (66) individually owning the first, second, and fifth-highest block assists marks in the NE10.
