ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose men's basketball team began its 2022-23 season at home against UAlbany tonight, with the Division I Great Danes pulling away late to take a 73-66 exhibition win in front of a sold-out crowd inside Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.
Sophomore guard
Matt Constant tallied a game-high 25 points to lead the Golden Knights offensively. Constant found his stroke from long range in the second half, with the guard netting six threes after halftime to finish with 20 points across the final half of action. Constant also added team-bests of seven rebounds and three assists.
Senior forward

Keegan Zoller finished in double-figures as well for Saint Rose with 12 and 11 points, respectively.Â
Facing a 12-point deficit with under five minutes remaining in the game, the Golden Knights would construct a 7-0 rally to bring the action to within one possession at 67-64 with 1:08 left, however 10 of the final 12 points of the contest would belong to the Great Danes, earning the visitors the seven-point win.
Graduate student guard Da'Kquan Davis topped the Great Danes with 20 points, while freshman forward Jonathan Beagle grabbed eight rebounds in the victory.
Looking forward, Saint Rose commences regular season play with the Saint Rose Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13 inside Nolan Gymnasium. The Golden Knights are slated to face Bloomfield at 6:00 pm on Saturday, before Sunday's 4:00 pm meeting with Dominican.
