ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose earned a pair of non-conference wins today in Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. Â The Golden Knights began the day with a sweep against D'Youville (25-14, 25-21, and 25-15) before capping the afternoon with a straight-set victory over Alliance University (25-11, 25-13, and 25-12).

Jessica Vargas topped the Golden Knights with nine kills apiece in the opener. Â The freshman middle blocking pair of
Teresa Moulder and
Joanna Forrest respectively added eight and seven kills, as well. Â The Golden Knights recorded 12 aces against the Saints, included from five from sophomore libero
Katelyn Atchinson.
"Today our team earned two full-team effort wins. We were able to execute our game plans and dominate the court offensively. We are looking forward to continuing conference play on Tuesday," said Head Coach

Cavalcanti and Moulder each tallied nine kills to help the Golden Knights sweep Alliance University to wrap the afternoon. Saint Rose registered a team swing percentage of .377 while holding the Warriors to a .037 swing rate in the finale.
The Golden Knights return to action on Tuesday night against NE10 rival Le Moyne in Syracuse. D'Youville turns around to host Mercy at noon on Sunday, while Alliance University welcomes Dominican for a 7:00 pm home contest on Wednesday.

Valeria Jorge ranks second in the league with 576 assists…Vargas (181 kills) and Cavalcanti (155 kills) respectively rank eighth and 11th in the conference in kills…Cavalcanti is also third the NE10 with 35 aces and Fripp owns the league's third-best swing percentage with a mark of .341.
