SAINT ROSE SCORES BIG UPSET AT #13 ADELPHI

FLUSHING, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose fell behind 1-0 before scoring five unanswered goals to defeat the #13 ranked Adephi 5-1 on the road tonight to earn an important three points in the Northeast-10 Conference table.

Junior forward Hilmar Halldorsson and senior back Nick Koenig recorded two goals apiece in addition to the solo strike by junior forward Josh Elliott to account for the five scores on the evening after trailing early.

"I could not be happier and proud the guys. I think tonight we finally showed what we are truly capable of against an excellent team like Adelphi," said Head Coach Steve Wieczorek. "We can't rest on this performance with another difficult game on the horizon."

Halldorsson, graduate student back Andrew Lule, and junior back Lucas Malmquist each tallied assists in the victory for Saint Rose (7-4-3, 3-3-3), while sophomore goalkeeper Tomas Rozman matched a career-best with eight saves for the Golden Knights.

Graduate student midfielder Felippo Peri registered the lone goal for the Panthers (7-2-4/4-2-2 NE10).

Looking ahead, both squads return to action at 4:00 pm on Wednesday. The Golden Knights are home to welcome Bentley, while Adelphi travels to Le Moyne.
