ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose fell in five sets tonight to visiting Saint Anselm, with the Hawks coming from behind to take the 3-2 Northeast-10 Conference victory in Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.
The Golden Knights tallied 18 total blocks across the five sets, marking the program's highest block output dating back to the 2013 season. Sophomore middle blocker
Julia Cavalcanti recorded a career-best eight assisted blocks, plus one solo, to lead the defensive effort.

Karleigh Fripp finished with six assisted blocks each, while freshman middle blocker
Joanna Forrest was involved in five. Jorge also added two solo blocks, 37 assists, and 10 digs.
Junior outside hitter
Jessica Vargas topped Saint Rose (10-11/2-4 NE10) with 13 kills, in addition to the 11 attacks landed by Cavalcanti, who registered three service aces as well.
The Golden Knights edged Saint Anselm 25-20 and 25-23 in sets one and two before the Hawks recovered to take the third and fourth frames by scores of 25-12 and 25-20. Saint Anselm secured the match victory in a fifth set in which the Hawks claimed six of the first seven points of the stanza on the way to a 15-7 final margin.
Senior outside hitter Lauren Casey had a match-high 22 kills for Saint Anselm (15-6/5-1 NE10). Junior outside hitter Kaitlin Brown and sophomore Gabby Belcher respectively tallied with 14 and 12 attacks to help the Hawks own a 67-47 advantage in kills tonight.
Looking forward, the Golden Knights turn around to host Saint Michael's on Saturday at 11:00 am. Saint Anselm heads west to Syracuse to take on Le Moyne tomorrow afternoon.
