GOLDEN KNIGHTS EXTEND WIN STREAK TO THREE GAMES BY PUTTING FOUR IN DOUBLE-FIGURES

NORTH EASTON, Mass. – The College of Saint Rose held off a late Stonehill push to win its third straight behind today's 75-71 triumph in Northeast-10 Conference action.

"It was a really good team win today. We played with tremendous energy and shared the basketball very well. I thought Cartier (Bowman), Eric (Fleming), and Shane (O'Dell) really gave us a lift on the inside and it opened some things up for us on the perimeter, and we were able to capitalize. Overall, this was a good NE10 road win," said head coach Mike Perno.

The Golden Knights walked in the locker room up 17 at intermission before freshman guard Tray Alexander buried a 3-pointer to make it a 20 point, 47-27, ballgame in the opening minute of the second stanza.

However, the Skyhawks (11-8/7-6 NE10) whittled their deficit to 10 points on four ensuing occasions, the last one at 71-61 with 3:50 remaining. They then rattled off eight unanswered points to get to within a bucket, 71-69, with 34 ticks showing on the clock.

Stonehill then fouled intentionally, but sophomore forward Josh McGettigan and freshman forward Shane O'Dell each made a pair of free throws on two separate trips at the line down the stretch.

The Golden Knights (9-7/6-5 NE10) helped themselves by shooting 52.0 percent (26-for-50) from the floor, including 58.3 percent (7-for-12) from the arc, while holding the Skyhawks to a 39.7 percent (23-for-58) effort from the floor. Saint Rose also recorded a season-high nine blocks.

O'Dell eclipsed the 20-point mark for the eighth time this season with a game-high 22. He also hauled in a team-high eight rebounds, handed out four assists, and drew seven fouls.

Fifth-year guard Adam Anderson went 4-for-5 from long range to end up with 16 points, while sophomore swing Cartier Bowman and Alexander both tossed in 13 points and hauled in six boards. Alexander also delivered five assists, while sophomore forward Eric Fleming contributed eight points and four rebounds.

Fifth year guard Owen Chose scored 20 points and senior forward Andrew Sims contributed 12 points, five rebounds, and four rebounds for Stonehill, which dropped only its second home game of the year.

Looking ahead, both teams have road conference dates ahead of them. The Golden Knights travel west on Wednesday to take on Le Moyne at 7:00 pm in Syracuse, while the Skyhawks head to Waltham, Mass. on Thursday to face Bentley at 7:30 pm.
Notes: The Golden Knights have shot 49.2 percent from the arc throughout their three-game win streak…They have also had least four players in double-figures scoring in each of those contests…O'Dell has been in double-figures scoring in nine straight outings and remains among the conference's leading scorers and rebounders…He is fourth among the NE10 leaders with a 19.7 scoring average…He stands ninth behind 7.3 rebounds per game…Alexander is eighth in the country and tops the league with 6.4 assists per outing…He also paces the conference with a 2.1 steals average…Alexander has passed around 30 assists with only seven turnovers throughout the last four games…Anderson has been in double-figures in four straight outings.
