BALANCED EFFORT PACES GOLDEN KNIGHTS PAST #8 JEFFERSON UNIVERSITY

PHILADELPHIA – Seven different student-athletes figured in the scoring column and The College of Saint Rose posted its second consecutive clean sheet to open the season with today's 4-0 victory at #8 Jefferson University.

The Golden Knights (2-0) engineered a 20-4 shot advantage, including a 10-0 differential in shots-on-target, and put themselves in the driver's seat behind two goals in the opening six minutes.

Senior midfielder Ciera Lundy, junior midfielders Janina Mueller and Theresa Durle, and freshman midfielder Katlyn Krupski each found the back of the net. Sophomore midfielder Tatiana Leggiero, freshman forward Mia Klammer, and sophomore forward Olivia Boucher were credited with assists.

Lundy headed home a Leggiero corner for what proved to the game-winner with a mere 3:02 expired and Mueller converted a penalty kick a little over two minutes later to make a 2-0 affair.

Durle made it 3-0 after collecting a Klammer throw-in and lofting her volley over Jefferson goalkeeper Liv Riddel's head with 2:02 gone by in the second period. Boucher then knocked home a rebound at the 82:24 mark to close out the scoring.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose is scheduled to play its Northeast-10 Conference opener next Sunday at Saint Anselm. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 pm in Manchester, N.H. Meanwhile, the Rams have a 7:00 pm road Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference date at Holy Family.
Notes: Senior keeper Marika Laurendeau now has 53 wins, which put her nine shy of school record holder Jessica Gerski who recorded 62 victories from 2011-13…The Golden Knights have generated a 19-2 shots-on-goal advantage throughout their first two matches this year.
