NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The College of Saint Rose scored twice in the first half to upend host Southern Connecticut State 2-0 in its Northeast-10 Conference opener tonight.

A pair of underclassmen provided the offensive output for the Golden Knights (2-2-1/1-0-0 NE10). Freshman back
Victor Boje Henriksen converted a penalty kick with 15:35 elapsed to provide the game-winner with his team-leading fourth goal of the year. Freshman forward
Erick Radtke then struck at the 29:58 mark when he collected a feed from sophomore forward
Hilmar Halldorsson and finished high-center for the insurance marker.
In the back, junior keeper
Ryan Henning quarterbacked the defense and recorded a season-high six saves to keep the Owls (1-4-1/1-1-0 NE10) in check. Southern Connecticut State generated a 10-6 shot advantage and controlled possession for 54.0 percent of the match.
Looking ahead, both sides have conference dates Saturday. The Golden Knights host #2 and NE10 leader Franklin Pierce at 5:00 pm, while the Owls head to Easton, Mass. for a noon meeting at Stonehill.
