KLAMMER SCORES FOUR GOALS IN #3 GOLDEN KNIGHTS 6-1 TRIUMPH AT NE10 RIVAL PACE

Freshman forward becomes one of only five players in school history to pull off the feat

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Freshman forward Mia Klammer etched her name in the record book and The College of Saint Rose extended its season-long unbeaten streak to five matches with tonight's 6-1 triumph at Northeast-10 Conference rival Pace University.

Klammer became only the fifth player in Golden Knights history to score four goals in a game, which falls just one shy of the school record of five set by Saint Rose Athletics Hall Famer Jenn Camardello in a 7-1 victory versus Russell Sage College 29 years ago.

The Golden Knights (5-0/2-0 NE10), ranked #3 in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll for the second consecutive week, again justified their lofty standing behind another dominating performance. They engineered a 19-2 shots-on-goal advantage and struck three times in each half.

Junior forward Kaelyn Britt and freshman midfielder Samantha Diaz also found the back of the net for Saint Rose.

Klammer set the evening's tone by striking twice in the opening 11 minutes, before the Setters (2-2-2/0-2-2 NE10) countered a minute after her second tally to make it a 2-1 match. However, Diaz made it 3-1 with less than a minute left before halftime to afford Saint Rose some much deserved breathing room.

Klammer continued her historic night by striking twice less than two minutes apart in the early stages of the second stanza. Britt closed out the scoring in the 89th minute.

Looking ahead, both sides have NE10 matches on tap for Saturday. The Golden Knights are home for only the second time this season with a 2:00 pm date versus Bentley. Meanwhile, Pace heads to Worcester, Mass. to face Assumption at 7:00 pm.
Notes: Klammer joined the elite company of Wendy Barker, Lynette Sherwood, and Drea Porteus, along with Camardello, who have scored four goals in a single match…Sherwood twice pulled off the feat…Porteus, who has also been inducted into the Saint Rose Athletics Hall of Fame, was the last one to do it 22 years ago…Saint Rose has outscored its five opponents to date by a 19-3 margin despite playing four of those contests on the road…10 players have accounted for the 19 goals and 14 players have figured in the scoring column…Britt has at least a point in four of the five matches on the year.
