ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.. – The College of Saint Rose rebounded from last week's season-opening loss to Caldwell and Wednesday's cancelation with Dominican, after holding a 4-1 lead, with this afternoon's 2-0 triumph at Molloy.
Â
Freshman back
Victor Boje Henriksen provided both strikes for the Golden Knights (1-1-0) who engineered a 15-9 shot advantage, including a 9-2 differential in threats on target.
Â
Henriksen scored what proved to be the game-winner when he headed home a free kick off the foot of freshman midfielder
Simon Schouby with less than a minute remaining until intermission. He then got in the air again for the insurance marker by heading home a corner from junior midfielder
Harry Soederlind.
Â
Molloy keeper Nick Conklu made five of his seven saves throughout the second half to keep the Lions (1-2-1) within striking distance.
Â
Both teams have road matches ahead of them. The Golden Knights visit Mercy College for a 3:00 pm date Wednesday, while the Lions head to Adelphi for a 7:30 pm encounter Tuesday.
