SYRACUSE, N.Y. – #1 Le Moyne outscored The College of Saint Rose 4-0 in the opening period on its way to a 12-4 Northeast-10 Conference victory this afternoon.
Â
Senior midfielder
John Loughlin fired three into the net to lead the Golden Knights (1-6/1-6 NE10). The output equaled a career-high for Loughlin, who has scored a goal in every game that he's played in this spring, including each of the past three contests. Senior attack
Jordyn Marchiano moved into a tie for fourth place on the program's career scoring list by recording the other Saint Rose marker. He now has 106 career points (81 goals, 25 assists).
Â
The Dolphins (9-0/8-0 NE10) had 10 players register a point in the home win. Midfielder Ross Filtch, a graduate student, tallied three goals and an assist to lead the way.
Â
Following the early Le Moyne outburst, Loughlin scored twice in a 2:32 span to get Saint Rose within two. However, the Dolphins broke the Black and Gold momentum with a goal just 1:02 later. The tally kicked off a 6-1 Le Moyne run to allow the country's top-ranked squad to take control.
Â
Looking ahead, Saint Rose concludes the NE10 regular season on Saturday at 1:00 pm vs. #20 Bentley. Fans can watch the contest, which will serve as the program's "Senior Day", on the
NE10NOW Network. Today's game was the regular season finale for Le Moyne. The Dolphins now await their seeding in the upcoming NE10 Championship Tournament.
