GOLDEN KNIGHTS UPENDED 61-47 BY NATIONALLY-RANKED GANNON

ALBANY, N.Y. - The College of Saint Rose dropped this afternoon's non-conference game 61-47 to visiting #23/12 Gannon.

Senior forward Nina Fedullo and junior guard Becca Townes topped the Golden Knights (0-6) with 16 points apiece in the setback. Fedullo, who went 7-of-10 from the field, grabbed a team-high four rebounds, while Townes contributed three steals and two assists.

"As a young team, building our habits and getting better every day remain the focus of our process. We certainly have to get more shot attempts up, but I thought we did an outstanding job of holding Gannon below their scoring average," said Head Coach Whitney Edwards.

Gannon (11-1), ranked #12 in the D2SIDA and #23 in the WBCA national polls, shot 50.0 percent (21-for-42) from the field to pick up its seventh-straight win. Sophomore forward/center Sam Pirosko led all players with 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting.

The Golden Knights trailed by just six midway through the third quarter before the visitors closed the period on a 10-0 run. Saint Rose was unable to get closer than 12 in the final stanza.
