GOLDEN KNIGHTS COME FROM BEHIND TO GET PAST LE MOYNE IN OVERTIME

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore midfielder Josh Elliott scored the game-winner 1:15 into overtime to lift The College of Saint Rose to a 2-1, come-from-behind victory today at Northeast-10 Conference rival Le Moyne.

Fellow junior midfielder Kevin Winglosky set up Elliott's strike and also tied it midway through the second half after the Dolphins (5-3-0/2-3-0 NE10) took a 1-0 lead in the opening 17 minutes.

"This was a great win on the road against a very strong and organized Le Moyne side. I was really proud of our team's heart and resiliency as we battled back to get a well-earned three points," said Head Coach John Ciano.

Saint Rose capped it in style as Winglosky sent a through ball near midfield that found Elliott in space who delivered the decisive shot low into the net from 13-yards out.

Winglosky squared it earlier at the 76:47 mark to bring about overtime for the third straight outing for the Golden Knights (3-4-2/2-2-1 NE10).

Senior midfielder Joe Falcone afforded Le Moyne an early lead after he sailed a strike from 20-yards out into the upper-left corner after gathering a feed from freshman back Jack Goodrich.

The match was fairly evenly played as each side manufactured 12 shots, although seven of those were on-target for the Golden Knights as opposed to four for the Dolphins. Saint Rose also controlled possession for 59.0 percent of the match.

In goal, freshman Tomas Rozman recorded three saves in his fourth career start while Josh Mahr, a graduate student, came up with five stops for Le Moyne.

Looking ahead, both squads have home conference dates Saturday. The Golden Knights take on Saint Anselm at 4:00 pm, while the Dolphins face Assumption at 3:00 pm.
Notes: There are 25 underclassmen listed on the Saint Rose roster…Today marked the Golden Knights first-ever win at Le Moyne…The two sides had met eight previous times in Syracuse dating back to 2003…Saint Rose is now 3-1-1 on the road and 1-1-2 in overtime this autumn…Rozman was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll Monday.
