CARY, N.C. – The College of Saint Rose scored five unanswered runs to upend Slippery Rock 5-2 tonight at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. In the process, the Golden Knights snapped the Rock's five-game win streak.

Brian Hill finished 2-4 with a run scored and senior shortstop
Andrew Pedone drove home a pair to propel the Saint Rose (5-6) offense.

On the mound, junior right-hander
Austin Cole hurled 3.1 innings of two-hit, shutout ball out of the bullpen to collect his first win in a Golden Knights uniform. Senior right-hander
Nicholas Zuba then came on in the ninth with a pair of runners in scoring position and recorded the final two outs to chalk up his second save of the young season.

Sophomore second baseman Joe Kozarian reached base five times by going 3-for-3 with two walks to lead Slippery Rock (5-2).

Saint Rose, which has now won three of its last four, snapped a 2-2 deadlock by pushing across a pair of runs with two down in the seventh. Sophomore third baseman
Tyler Osborne drove home Pedone with an infield hit and senior right fielder
Garrett Klahr tripled to the right-centerfield gap to bring across Osborne.

In the eighth, Pedone stroked a two-out double through the left side of the infield to score Hill with the game's final run.

The Golden Knights cut their 2-0 deficit in half in the fifth when freshman catcher
Derek Haughey belted a double to right and scored on a Pedone sacrifice fly. An inning later, Klahr scored on a passed ball to tie the game 2-2.

Up ahead, both teams wrap up their stay at the USA Baseball National Training Complex with 9:00 am dates tomorrow. The Golden Knights face Clarion University, while the Rock meets Dominican College.

Jack McDonald singled tonight to run his hit streak to four games…He's batted .500 (7-for-14) with five RBI and a .714 slugging percentage during that span…Pedone is hitting .417 with runners in scoring position thus far this spring.
