WILSON, N.C. – The College of Saint Rose could not overcome an 8-0 second inning deficit in today's 11-1 setback to Lake Erie College at Fleming Stadium. The Golden Knights put themselves in position to do some damage, but stranded 12 runners and left the bases jammed in the fourth and ninth innings.

Senior shortstop
Andrew Pedone accounted for the Saint Rose (2-5) run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh. He also had a base hit in the first to extend his hit streak to six games. In addition, senior designated hitter
Jon Montesanti doubled in the eighth.

On the mound, senior right-hander
Frankie Pizzo tossed 3.1 innings of no-hit relief. Pizzo fanned five without issuing a walk.

The Storm (2-2-1) went up 2-0 in the first and then sent 11 batters to the plate in a six run, second inning. They added two more in the sixth and another in the seventh.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights continue south towards Augusta where they have a 1:00 pm tilt Tuesday at Paine College. Meanwhile, Lake Erie is off until next weekend when they visit Notre Dame (Ohio) for a noon twin-bill.
