WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Junior guard
Adam Anderson scored a career-high 30 points, but host Southern Connecticut State broke open the game early in the second half to upend the Golden Knights 91-72 in Northeast-10 Conference action this afternoon.

Saint Rose (5-22/2-16 NE10) grabbed a brief one point, 27-26, lead after Anderson converted a layup with 7:48 to go in the first stanza and walked in the locker room within striking distance behind a six point, 42-36, halftime deficit. However, the Owls (15-10/10-6 NE10) outscored the Golden Knights 23-6 throughout the opening eight minutes of the second stanza to take a commanding 23 point, 65-42, lead.

Anderson went 11-for-18 from the field to pull within four of the 1,000-point mark for his career. Freshman forward
Josh McGettigan finished with 13 points and five rebounds, while sophomore forward
Sekou Sylla added 10 points and five boards as well.

Senior forward Taurus Adam II registered a monster "double-double" of 21 points and 19 rebounds to propel Southern Connecticut State, which improved to 9-4 at home. Junior forward Greg Jones also tossed in 21, while freshmen guards Levar Allen and Lyron Bennett added 15 and 11 respectively.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose will wrap up its season at home Tuesday evening when the Golden Knights host American International for Senior Night. The second half of the NE10 doubleheader is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 pm. Meanwhile, the Owls head to Long Island Tuesday to face Adelphi.
Notes: Sylla continues to lead the NE10 with 11.5 rebounds per game and is second behind a 22.1 scoring average…He is first in the country with 19 "double-doubles" and stands second in rebounding…Anderson is scoring at a 14.9 ppg clip after averaging 18.7 ppg throughout the last 10 contests thanks in part to 47.5 percent (28-for-59) shooting from the arc…Freshman swing
Cartier Bowman is averaging 10.7 ppg and 7.2 rpg on the year…He is also second in the NE10 with a 57.8 field goal percentage (111-for-192).
