#16 GOLDEN KNIGHTS PLAY TO 1-1 DRAW WITH SAINT ANSELM

ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose, ranked #16 in the first regular-season United Soccer Coaches National Poll, outshot Saint Anselm 3-1 in the two extra sessions only to settle for a 1-1 draw in this afternoon's Northeast-10 Conference opener for both squads.

Freshman forward Olivia Boucher ran he goal scoring streak to three matches and junior keeper Marika Laurendeau recorded six saves for the Golden Knights (3-0-1/0-0-1 NE10). Junior forward Suzanne Cotter accounted for the Hawks' (2-0-2/0-0-1 NE10) goal.

Boucher slipped a shot inside the left post with 14:39 gone by to afford Saint Rose a 1-0 lead, but Cotter squared it by heading home a deflected ball deep inside the area five minutes into the second half.

Senior forwards Nina Predanic and Caitlyn Dabagian both manufactured dangerous threats in the first extra session, forcing Hawks junior keeper Payton Wildrick to be on her toes.

Laurendeau and the Saint Rose defense was more than equal to the task at the other end, especially throughout the opening period when Saint Anselm generated seven corner kick opportunities.

Looking ahead, both sides return to the pitch Wednesday. The Golden Knights travel to Springfield to take on conference rival American International at 7:00 pm. Meanwhile, the Hawks entertain Post University in Manchester, N.H. Kickoff is set for 4:00 pm.
Notes: Predanic was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll on Monday…Boucher is the second among the conference leaders with four goals this autumn…Laurendeau is third among NE10 keepers with 19 saves.
