ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose, ranked #16 in the first regular-season United Soccer Coaches National Poll, held off a feisty Molloy team to remain unbeaten with tonight's 2-1 non-conference victory.
"This was a tough battle and gritty win. The girls showed resilience and determination. Both goal scoring efforts were excellent.
Marika Laurendeau was once again solid between the posts," said head coach
Laurie Darling Gutheil.

The Golden Knights (3-0) struck in the opening eight minutes, but the Lions increased their offensive pressure in the second period and eventually deadlocked the affair 1-1 when junior midfielder Dana Potezsch converted a penalty kick with 72:46 expired.
Â
However, Saint Rose proved resilient as sophomore back
Luisa Gaudl tipped home a ball off a volley from senior midfielder
Karmyn Carter at the 81.44 mark. Molloy manufactured three more shots and a like number of corners from that point forward as it desperately tried to find another equalizer. However, the Golden Knights kept their composure to chalk up a tough win.
Â
Freshman forward
Olivia Boucher scored her team-leading third goal of the year when she finished a pass from senior midfielder
Morgan Burchhardt to afford Saint Rose an early lead.
Â
Looking ahead, both teams return to their home pitches Saturday. The Golden Knights play their Northeast-10 Conference opener versus Saint Anselm at 2:00 pm, while the Lions host Georgian Court University at 12:00 pm.
Notes: Predanic was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll on Monday…Burchhardt is the NCAA Division II active leader with 39 career assists.
