MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior attack
Carter Badour became The College of Saint Rose career scoring leader in today's 19-11 Northeast-10 Conference setback at Saint Anselm.
Badour led the Golden Knights in their season finale with five points, four goals and an assist. The total propelled the Saint Rose co-captain past
Matt Graham '18 for the top spot on the program's career scoring list with 146. Badour, the only Golden Knight to record a pair of 50-point seasons, finished his final campaign with a Saint Rose single-season record 61 points, 44 goals and 17 assists.
Freshman midfielder
Drew Carpino scored a career-best four goals for the Golden Knights (5-9/3-8 NE10), while sophomore attack
Jack Pemrick added two goals and an assist.
Senior midfielder
Nicolas Johnson, who began the week among the national leaders in multiple statistical categories, won 61.8 percent (21-for-34) of face-offs and topped all players with 15 groundballs.
Saint Anselm (7-6/6-5 NE10), who is receiving votes in the latest USILA national poll, got out to a quick 3-1 lead just 5:07 into the contest. The Golden Knights responded with two goals in a 47 second span to make it a one-goal affair. However, the Hawks netted the next six goals to gain control.
Johnson scored on the opening face-off of the second half to give the Golden Knights some momentum following the break. The tally kicked off six Saint Rose goals in a 15:23 span to make it a three-goal game with 14:31 to go. The Hawks closed the contest on a 6-1 run to seal the victory.
Senior midfielder Anthony Busconi led Saint Anselm with six points, four goals and two assists. Sophomore attack Matt Ward tossed in four goals, while senior goalie Nick Richard stopped 13 Saint Rose shots.
Notes: Johnson entered the game second nationally with a league-best 12.46 groundballs per game…He had won 70.0 percent of his face-offs, which was good for eighth in the country…Badour closed his career with a program record 112 goals...He tied his single-season record of 44 goals set last spring and is the only Saint Rose player to record a pair of 40-goal seasons.
