SAINT ROSE FALLS TWICE AT PACE

Myler Goes 5-for-6 In NE10 Doubleheader

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose dropped both ends of today's Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader at Pace University. The Golden Knights (12-21/5-12 NE10) dropped the opener 9-1 (five innings) and the nightcap 7-4.

Senior outfielder Astasia Myler led the Saint Rose offense with a 5-for-6 afternoon. She scored twice in the second game and drove in the lone Saint Rose run in the opener.

Pace (17-18/8-13 NE10) started quickly on its Senior Day, putting up three first-inning runs. The early support was enough for junior right-hander Emma Bernet. The reigning NE10 ERA leader allowed just one hit and struck out eight in the complete game victory.

The Setters got out to a 7-1 lead in the nightcap to complete the sweep.

Sophomore shortstop Briana Ryan and junior outfielder Jillian Gartner led the Pace offense in the twin-bill. Ryan was 4-for-7 with a homer, three RBI and two runs scored, while Gartner was 4-for-6 with two runs scored and three RBI.

The teams are scheduled to conclude their three-game weekend series tomorrow at 1:00 pm.
