ALBANY, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose dropped both games of today's Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader with Adelphi. The Golden Knights (11-17/5-9 NE10) fell by scores of 7-0 and 2-0.
Â
The visiting Panthers (20-15/12-4 NE10) got started early in the opener, taking advantage of multiple walks by Golden Knight pitching to plate two first inning runs and three more in the second.
The early run support was more than enough for sophomore right-hander Ally Muller (13-6). The Adelphi ace did not permit a hit and fanned eight in her complete game victory.
Â
Junior right-hander
Kylee Warner provided the Golden Knights with four one-hit innings in relief before running into trouble in the sixth. Adelphi capitalized upon another bases loaded, nobody out situation to tack on a pair of runs. She finished with six two-hit innings and four strikeouts.
Â
In the nightcap, Adelphi senior catcher Nicoletta Cuccio commenced the scoring with a solo homer to left in the fifth. The Panthers added an unearned insurance run in the sixth. Sophomore right-hander Nicole Mengel spun a one-hitter in her complete game win (6-4).
The teams are scheduled to complete their three-game weekend series tomorrow at 11 am.
