ALBANY, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose dropped the finale of today's Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader in heartbreaking fashion, which allowed Pace University to complete the sweep at Bob Bellizzi Field. The Setters (21-10/10-6 NE10) won the second game 5-4 in 11 innings after taking the matinee 6-0.

The Golden Knights (7-18/3-10 NE10) bounced back from a one-run deficit in the eighth and loaded the bases in the tenth, before Pace scored the winning run on a hits-batsmen with the bases loaded and two down in the 11th.

Senior first baseman
Nicolas Teitter, junior designated hitter
Jon Montesanti, and senior left fielder
Kenny Fils-Aime had two hits apiece for Saint Rose. Senior shortstop Michael Salmonese, freshman center fielder Justin Scotto, and sophomore right fielder Harrison Treble did the same for the Setters, who have now won seven of their last eight.

The Golden Knights took a 3-2 lead in the fourth on a bases loaded fielder's choice and an RBI base hit from senior second baseman
Justin Sportman. Pace countered with two runs in the fifth and appeared to be in the driver's seat, before Montesanti homered over the left field fence in the eighth to tie the score 4-4.

In the opener, the Golden Knights stranded 11 runners and twice left the bases filled while Pace scratched out a pair of runs in the first, third, and fifth frames.

Freshman right-hander
Jared Restmeyer allowed a pair of runs on two hits and fanned five throughout 6.0 innings of relief for Saint Rose. Teitter finished 2-for-3 with a double.

Looking ahead, the two teams are scheduled to conclude their three-game weekend series at 11:00 am tomorrow.
