CARY, N.C. – The College of Saint Rose roared back from a 3-0 deficit by scoring nine unanswered runs throughout the final four innings to upend Clarion 9-3 today at the U.S.A National Baseball Training Complex.

The Golden Knights (3-5) scored three times in the sixth to knot the score 3-3 and then blew it open with a five run, seventh before tacking on another run in the eighth.

Senior designated hitter
Kenny Fils-Aime and senior left fielder
Justin Sportman drove in two runs each, while senior center fielder
Alexander Koshgarian finished 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored. On the hill, freshman right-hander
Cameron Flynn scattered seven hits across six innings in his first collegiate start to earn the win. Junior right-hander
Richard Umholtz followed with three innings of no-hit ball to earn the save.

Junior right fielder Ben Barth went 3-for-4 to lead the Golden Eagles (6-6).

Senior first baseman
Nicolas Teitter belted an RBI single to center and came around to score an unearned run two batters later to spearhead the sixth. An inning later, Fils-Aime slapped a two-run base hit through the left side and Sportman brought around another pair with a base hit up the middle. Koshgarian then scored freshman third baseman
Tyler Osborne with a RBI single through the right side in the eighth.

Looking ahead, both squads resume their weekend residencies at the National Training Complex tomorrow. Saint Rose has a 6:30 pm game versus Mansfield, while Clarion has a 10:00 am date with Pace University.
