NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The College of Saint Rose cut an early 19-point deficit to five with three minutes left until the break, but could not get any closer in today's 98-81 defeat at Northeast-10 Conference rival Southern Connecticut State.

The Owls (16-9/11-6 NE10) shot 54.7 percent (16-for-31) from the floor and outscored the Golden Knights 29-12 from the free throw line to improve to 8-3 at home on the year.

Sophomore guard
Adam Anderson went 7-for-9 from the arc to tie his career-high with 29 points for Saint Rose (8-14/5-10 NE10). Senior forward
Matt Cerutti finished with 13 points and six rebounds, while junior guard
Michael Wearne and sophomore forward
Jeff Allen added 12 and 10 points respectively.

Junior forward Taurus Adams II scored 25 points and senior guard Joey Wallace wound up with 22 points and eight rebounds for Southern Connecticut State.
