DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. –The College of Saint Rose men's lacrosse team opened the spring with this afternoon's 13-9 setback at #5 Mercy.

Carter Badour led the Golden Knights (0-1), which closed the matinee on a 6-1 run, with five points, a goal and a career-high four assists. Junior attack
Jordyn Marchiano and sophomore midfielder
John Loughlin added three goals apiece. It was the first career hat trick for Loughlin.

Nicolas Johnson went 15-of-25 in the X, while sophomore goalie
Matthew Gill made seven stops in his first collegiate start.
Freshman midfielder Jack Gibbons totaled a goal and six assists to lead Mercy (4-0). The Mavericks, off to their best start since 2013, outscored Saint Rose 4-0 in the second period for a 7-2 halftime lead. Mercy kicked off the second half with three goals in the opening 3:17 to increase its control.
Saint Rose has its home opener set for Wednesday at 3:00 pm against Post University. Mercy is back in action Saturday, March 2 when Southern New Hampshire visits Dobbs Ferry.
