ALBANY, N.Y. - The College of Saint Rose cut a 16-point fourth quarter deficit to single digits twice before falling 68-55 to visiting American International this evening at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.

Senior forward/center Dana Watts recorded a season-high 37 points on 14-of-19 shooting and 12 rebounds en route to her 16
th "double-double" of the season for the Yellow Jackets (15-11/10-8 NE10) which ran their win streak to five games. The Northeast-10 Conference scoring leader, who went 6-for-6 at the foul line and 3-of-3 from beyond the arc, also registered four steals. Senior guard Alyssa Guyon had 14 points and eight rebounds,

The visitors used an early 9-0 run to gain control of the NE10 contest, holding an 11-4 lead with 5:06 to go in the opening period. American International, on the strength of a 26-13 first half rebounding margin, including 11-2 on the offensive glass, increased its advantage with a 12-2 run to start the second quarter. The Golden Knights, trailing by 15, 31-16, with 3:38 remaining before intermission, closed the half on a 11-4 stretch to go into the locker room down by just eight, 35-28.

American International slowly built up its lead in the third to hold a 56-40 advantage entering the final frame. Saint Rose commenced the stanza with a 10-2 jaunt to make it an eight-point game with 6:40 to go. The Yellow Jackets, which grabbed 15 offensive rebounds for a 12-0 advantage in second-chance points, reeled off the ensuing 10 points to remove just about any doubt about the final outcome.

The final weekend of the NE10 regular season has Saint Rose heading to Syracuse to take on Le Moyne. The Upstate Challenge contest will start at 1:00 pm. Fans that are unable to attend the game can follow all the action live on
