ALBANY, N.Y. - An 11-0 fourth quarter run propelled visiting Southern Connecticut State past The College of Saint Rose 51-38 tonight at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. The 3:38 stretch turned what was a tight Northeast-10 Conference contest into a double-digit advantage for the Owls.
Senior forward
Leah Dollard led the Golden Knights (3-6/0-5 NE10), which held SCSU to 28.8 (21-of-73) percent shooting, with 16 points. She knocked down six of her opening seven shots to total a dozen of the points before the break. Junior forward
Nina Fedullo added a "double-double" of 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
Southern Connecticut junior forward Jessica Fressle topped all players with 21 points, while junior guard Ednaija Lassiter tossed in 10 points.
Looking ahead, the Golden Knights host the Saint Rose Holiday Classic on Saturday, Dec. 21 and Sunday, Dec. 22. Fans unable to make it to Albany for the games against Daemen and Georgian Court can watch all the Tournament action live on the
NE10 Now Network. SCSU (4-5/1-3 NE10), who snapped a four-game slide this evening, welcomes in Chestnut Hill on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
Notes: Dollard (11.9) and Fedullo (10.6) are averaging double figures…Fedullo grabs a team-high 8.6 rebounds a night, good for fifth in the conference.
