FEDULLO KEYS SAINT ROSE VICTORY

Golden Knights Defeat Felician 60-38


ORANGEBURG, N.Y. - Junior forward Nina Fedullo recorded career-bests of 16 points and 18 rebounds to help The College of Saint Rose defeat Felician 60-38 this afternoon at the Regina Rivera Memorial Tournament, hosted by Dominican. Fedullo, who went 7-of-9 from the field, added three assists and a block in the non-conference victory.
 
"It's always nice to get a win on the road. Nina Fedullo was tremendous today. Her 18 rebounds were a key factor in our win," said Head Coach Karen Haag.

Senior forward Leah Dollard tossed in 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while sophomore forward Shamim Wambere added ten points.

Saint Rose (3-1) got out to a 15-5 lead after the opening quarter and didn't look back this afternoon. The Golden Knights, which forced Felician (1-2) into an 11.6 percent (5-of-43) shooting performance across the opening 30 minutes, led by as many as 29.

Freshman guard Briana Lee led the Golden Eagles with 17 points. 

Looking ahead, Saint Rose has its Northeast-10 Conference and home opener vs. Adelphi on Saturday at 1:30 pm. Fans that are unable to make it to Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium to attend the game can watch all the action live on the NE10 Now Network. Meanwhile, Felician plays at Pace University on Thursday at 7:00 pm.                                              
Notes: Sophomore guard Becca Townes and Fedullo made Monday's NE10 weekly honor roll...Fedullo averaged 13.0 points on 69.2 percent (9-of-13) shooting and 14.0 rebounds this weekend...She has grabbed 39 rebounds during the last three games and ranks fourth in the NE10 in rebounding...Fedullo tops the Golden Knights with 12.5 points and 10.5 rebounds a night...She is one of four Golden Knights to average twin figures...Wambere (11.3), Townes (11.0) and Dollard (10.5) are the others...Townes is shooting 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from beyond the arc...The mark is good for fourth in the conference...Saint Rose grabs 42.8 boards on a regular basis...They have out-rebounded opponents 171-149, thus far.
