SAINT ROSE COMES OUT ON THE SHORT END OF A DOMINATING EFFORT

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The College of Saint Rose dictated pace all afternoon only to come up short with a 3-2 loss at Northeast-10 Conference rival Southern New Hampshire in a match that featured a pair of nationally ranked sides.

The Golden Knights (11-2-1/7-2-1 NE10), ranked #11 in this week's United Soccer Coaches National Poll, manufactured a dominating 10-2 shots-on-goal advantage, but the 24th ranked Penmen took advantage of an own goal and struck with the game-winner at the 73:48 mark.

Senior forward Caitlyn Dabagian and freshman forward Olivia Boucher accounted for the two Saint Rose strikes. Sophomore forward Dorthea Glorud scored twice for Southern New Hampshire (10-4-0/7-4-0 NE10), which improved to 7-1 at home this autumn.

The Golden Knights twice bounced back from one-goal deficits. Dabagian struck a minute after Glorud put the Penmen up 1-0 midway through the first half, and Boucher finished a feed from senior midfielder Morgan Burchhardt with 67:11 elapsed to level it 2-2.

Saint Rose then generated five shots throughout the final 16 minutes, but ultimately could not force overtime.

Looking ahead, both sides are back on the pitch Wednesday. The Golden Knights have a 7:00 pm meeting at Adelphi on Long Island that will feature two of the conference's top-three squads. Meanwhile, the Penmen are back home to face crosstown and league rival Saint Anselm at 5:00 pm.
Notes: The Golden Knights are the top ranked side in the East Region for the sixth consecutive week…Saint Rose is the nation's lone squad with a pair of 100 point scorers in Burchhardt and senior forward Nina Predanic, who picked up an assist and drove four shots-on-goal this afternoon…She leads the league with 34 points and 13 goals, and tops the nation with six game-winning strikes…The Golden Knights entered today with the country's 12th best record despite playing the 23rd toughest schedule.
