SAINT ROSE FALLS TO BENTLEY 3-1

Schweitzer and Fogg Register Double-Digits in Kills

ALBANY, N.Y. - The College of Saint Rose had a pair of players with double figures in kills in tonight's 3-1 (25-27, 25-21, 26-24, 25-14) Northeast-10 Conference setback to visiting Bentley.

Senior outside hitter Stevie Schweitzer topped all players with 15 kills. She added 14 digs for her ninth double-double of the fall. Junior middle hitter Victoria Fogg tossed in 12 kills on .409 hitting for the Golden Knights (10-12/3-4 NE10). Senior libero Tina Ceriello, who was chosen the NE10 Libero of the Week on Tuesday, led all participants with 24 digs.

Bentley (19-4/8-0 NE10), now on a 14-match winning streak, had four players attain double-digits in kills. Junior outside hitter Kirsten Segaline paced the Falcons with 15 kills, while senior setter Xio Lopp dished out 51 assists. The reigning NE10 Setter of the Week also contributed six kills on .357 hitting and nine digs in the victory.

Down to the NE10 leaders early in the opening set, the Black and Gold used a 12-5 run to garner a 23-20 advantage. After a late Bentley rally forced extra time, a Schweitzer kill combined with a Bentley attack error got Saint Rose on the board first. The Falcons responded by holding Saint Rose to .088 hitting in the second stanza to tie it.

Following a tightly-contested third set, which featured 17 tie scores, Bentley got out to an 18-2 fourth set lead to seal the road triumph.

Both teams return to the court tomorrow at 1:00 pm. The Golden Knights will host Stonehill, while Bentley takes on Le Moyne in Syracuse. The NE10 matinees will be available to watch on the NE10 NOW Network.
