PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team rallied from an 0-2 deficit to defeat host Pace University in tonight's Northeast-10 Conference match. Senior outside hitter 
Stevie Schweitzer, the reigning NE10 Player of the Week, recorded a double-double of 19 kills and 15 digs to lead the Golden Knights, which won by scores of 21-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-19, 15-8.
Junior middle hitter 
Kyla Archie added 15 kills on .323 hitting and seven total blocks, while the freshmen setting duo of 
Valeria Jorge (26) and 
Allison Sellers (22) dished out 48 assists in the comeback victory. 
Saint Rose (8-7/2-1 NE10), who hit .337 across the final three frames, received ten kills on .333 hitting from junior middle hitter 
Victoria Fogg, while senior libero 
Tina Ceriello, the NE10 leader in digs per set, totaled 15 digs.
"We needed to go into the third set with some fire, and to focus on our serving and blocking scheme," said Saint Rose Head Coach 
Vanessa Volpe-Rivera. "With our game plan in hand, some focus and intensity, we were able to comeback successfully to win the match."
 
After Pace (1-12/0-3 NE10) capitalized upon the slow Saint Rose start, the Golden Knights got off the mat emphatically in the third set, charging out to an 11-2 lead. The Setters weathered the storm, coming back to force numerous deadlocks in the frame, including at 21. However, Archie registered two kills around a service ace by sophomore defensive specialist 
Megan Mayer to extend the NE10 contest. The Black and Gold proceeded to get out to a 12-4 fourth set lead en route the decisive period. Fogg tallied four kills and a block assist in the "Race to 15" to help Saint Rose escape the Goldstein Fitness Center with the victory.
Sophomore outside hitter Sandra Yang topped the Setters, which played their home opener tonight, with 18 kills. Junior setter Nicole Pivetti registered a double-double of 21 assist and 10 digs, while senior libero Danielle Vaiano elevated 21 Golden Knight attacks.
 
Looking ahead, Saint Rose travels to Philadelphia on Friday to play the University of the Sciences.  Fans unable to make it to Philly for the 7:00 pm start can watch the action on the 
 CACC Network. Pace, in the midst of a three-match homestand, returns to the court on Saturday for a 1:00 pm NE10 tilt with Saint Anselm.
Notes: Saint Rose, picked ninth in the NE10 preseason coaches' poll, is coming off their first postseason appearance since 2015…Ceriello began the night as the league leader in digs per set (5.96)…The mark ranked ninth nationally…Schweitzer was named the NE10 Player of the Week yesterday…She recorded 3.62 kills per set and 4.75 digs per set in the 1-1 week…Archie was averaging an NE10-best 1.00 blocks per set coming into tonight's match.
