WORCESTER, Mass. - The College of Saint Rose had its four match unbeaten streak snapped with today's 2-0 setback at Northeast-10 Conference rival Assumption. The Greyhounds (7-5/5-4 NE10) scored twice four minutes apart in the early portion of the second half.
Â
The Golden Knights (8-3-1/4-2-1 NE10) engineered an 8-7 shot-on-goal advantage in the defeat.
Sophomore midfielder Juan O'Neill struck with what proved to be the game-winner at the 61:53 mark and senior forward Jason Lages afforded them some breathing room. O'Neill finished top side off a counter, while Lages buried a through ball from sophomore forward Connor Willis.
Â
Sophomore keeper
Ryan Henning turned aside five threats-on-target for Saint Rose, while junior midfielders
Andrew Lule and
Oskar Aaströem each put a pair of shots on frame.

Looking ahead, both sides have road matches Wednesday. The Golden Knights head to North Easton, Mass. to face NE10 rival Stonehill at 3:00 pm, while the Skyhawks head to Bridgeport for a 6:00 pm non-league encounter.
Notes: Saint Rose moved up a spot to #6 in this week's United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll…The Golden Knights have surrendered 13 goals this autumn, third fewest in the NE10…Henning was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll Monday.
