SAINT ROSE BOUNCES BACK FROM THREE ONE-GOAL DEFICITS TO UPEND ASSUMPTION

Burchhardt finishes with six points, including her 25th career goal


WORCESTER, Mass.-The College of Saint Rose forged three ties off of one-goal deficits before tallying the game-winner in the 86th minute on the way to tonight's 4-3 triumph at Northeast-10 Conference rival Assumption.
 
Senior forward Morgan Burchhardt scored a pair of goals, including the decisive strike and the 25th of her career, and assisted on two others, while senior midfielder Julianne Johnston and junior midfielder Sanja Ratkovic registered the other pair of strikes.
 
Johnston tied the game 1-1 in the 11th minute and Ratkovic leveled it 2-2 in the 54th off a Burchhardt corner kick. After Assumption went ahead for the third time in the 66th, Burchhardt knocked home a rebound off the foot of junior forward Nina Predanic in the 78th. Predanic then set up Burchhardt with the game winner.
 
Junior keeper Marika Laurendeau recorded six saves for the Golden Knights (4-2-1/2-2-0 NE10), while junior Alexis Nason turned aside nine threats on target for the Greyhounds (3-3-0/2-1-0 NE10), who dropped their first home match of the season. Also, senior forward Katie Villemaire finished with a goal and an assist.
 
Looking ahead, both teams have conference matches Saturday. The Golden Knights host Merrimack for Senior Day at 2:00 pm. Meanwhile, Assumption travels to New Haven to take Southern Connecticut State at 1:00 pm.
Notes: Six different players have found the back of the net for the Golden Knights this autumn…Saint Rose has outscored its opponents 16-8 this season, including 11-4 in the second half…Burchhardt catapulted into third place on the school's all-time career assists list with her 28th and 29th tonight…In the process, she moved into 11th place all-time with 79 points…Laurendeau stands third among the league leaders with a 0.846 save percentage on the season…Predanic and Burchhardt are first and fifth with 15 and 11 points respectively…The former is also tied for first with six goals.
