GOLDEN KNIGHTS REMAIN UNBEATEN

ALBANY-The College of Saint Rose continued its best start in program history (1981) and remained unbeaten with this evening's 2-0 victory against visiting Northeast-10 Conference rival Saint Anselm.

The Golden Knights (5-0/2-0) struck twice within a six-minute span midway through the second half to secure the victory.

"This was a good win for us tonight against an organized and determined Saint Anselm team. It took us a while to finally break through, but I am very proud of our patience and maturity. We are excited to get back to practice and prepare for our next match on Wednesday," said head coach John Ciano.

Senior back Adekitan Taiwo and junior forward Wari Isaac recorded the two Saint Rose strikes. Isaac one-touched home a feed off the flank from sophomore midfielder Oskar Aastroem with 70:35 gone by and then Taiwo ran onto a lob near the goal line from senior midfielder Kyle Clemens that the former redirected under the crossbar off a bounce.

Junior keeper Gianni Carillo came up three saves on the way to his third clean sheet this autumn, while junior Jim Rostkowski recorded seven stops to keep the Hawks (0-4/0-2 NE10) within striking distance.

Looking ahead, both teams get back to NE10 action Wednesday. Saint Rose hosts Franklin Pierce at 7:00 pm, while Saint Anselm travels to Colchester, Vt. to take on Saint Michael's at 4:00 pm.
Notes: Freshman midfielder Filippo Bellú is tied for second among the NE10 with leaders with five goals…Carillo is fourth with a 1.00 goals-against-average…The Golden Knights have now outscored their opponents by a 7-1 margin in the second half this season.
