FLUSHING, N.Y.-The College of Saint Rose out-shot host Queens 20-8 and bridged the two halves with a pair of goals six minutes apart on the way to today's 2-1 season-opening victory.

Marika Laurendeau recorded a pair of saves to propel the Golden Knights. Predanic finished a cross off the foot of junior midfielder
Sanja Ratkovic with a mere 32 seconds remaining until intermission. Dabagian made 2-0 with 50:11 elapsed when she fired home a shot from just outside the area.
"It was a great result on the road. The team played with determination and grit throughout the entire match while continually battling adverse conditions. Nina and Cait both converted quality opportunities," said head coach
Laurie Darling Gutheil.
Queens got on the board at the 71:32 mark when Guro Eriksen finished a breakaway that was caused by a Saint Rose turnover.

Overall, the Golden Knights (1-0) manufactured a 20-8 shot advantage, including a 7-3 advantage of those at frame, and earned six corner kicks while yielding a pair.

Going forward, Saint Rose has a 7:00 pm date Monday at Roberts Wesleyan in Rochester. Meanwhile, Queens has a 1:00 pm meeting Sunday at Bloomfield.Â
