GOLDEN KNIGHTS DROP FINALE IN 12 INNINGS AT NEW HAVEN

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The College of Saint Rose rallied from a 7-3, fourth inning deficit only to suffer a 9-8, 12 inning defeat in the finale of today's Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader at New Haven. The host Chargers also took the opener 6-3.

Senior catcher Tom Moore doubled down the left field line to bring across junior right fielder Alexander Koshgarian to make it 8-7 Golden Knights (15-19/8-11 NE10) in the 10th. However, the Chargers (31-6/13-6 NE10) tied it in the home half before completing the sweep in the 12th.

Koshgarian wound up 4-for-7, while senior center fielder Brian Uliana, freshman second baseman Francisco Infante and Moore all had two hits apiece. Senior shortstop Mark Powell drove in a pair of runs as well. On the mound, senior right-hander Dominic Razzano tossed 4.2 innings of one-hit ball in relief.

In the opener, sophomore right-hander Steven Burke allowed just one run and struck out nine, while walking only one, throughout 7.0 innings out of the bullpen. Senior third baseman Joe Foran finished 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI, while junior first baseman Nicolas Teitter went 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Looking ahead, both squads are scheduled to conclude their weekend series with a 1:00 pm game tomorrow.
