SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Host American International pushed across an unearned run in the fifth inning to upend The College of Saint Rose 4-3 in a
Northeast-10 Conference divisional encounter this afternoon. The Golden Knights stranded 12 runners on base, including at least one in each inning except the fifth.

The Golden Knights (15-17/8-9 NE10) rebounded from a 2-0, first inning deficit by scoring three runs in the third. However, the Yellow Jackets (16-22/7-13 NE10) scored once in the fourth to tie it 3-3 and pushed across the decisive run an inning later.

Junior left-hander
Greg Musk allowed three earned runs and fanned five throughout 7.0 innings of work, while sophomore designated hitter
Andrew Pedone finished 3-for-5 with a run scored to propel the offense. Also, senior right fielder
Michael Shine singled to extend his hit streak to seven games.

Sophomore designated hitter Matt Costanza finished 3-for-4 with two RBI and senior right-hander Jason Coscio hurled 3.0 innings of one-hit ball in relief for the Yellow Jackets (16-22/7-13 NE10).

Looking ahead, both squads have three-game weekend NE10 schedules on their dockets. The Golden Knights head to New Haven, while the Yellow Jackets host Southern Connecticut State.
