#22 LE MOYNE UPENDS GOLDEN KNIGHTS

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Two Le Moyne pitchers combined to limit The College of Saint Rose to a pair of hits and thus hand the Golden Knights a 3-0 setback in today's Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division encounter on the Onondaga Community College campus.

In the process, the 22nd-ranked Dolphins (20-6/6-0 NE10) thwarted a solid outing by Saint Rose (9-10/2-2 NE10) junior left-hander Greg Musk to win their sixth straight. Musk allowed just a pair of earned runs and fanned six, with only one walk, in 7.0 innings of action.

Freshman center fielder Connor Farrington and junior right fielder Alexander Koshgarian accounted for the two Golden Knights base hits.

Sophomore left fielder Justin Tuey and senior center fielder Brian Cox both finished 2-for-3, while sophomore third baseman Nicholas Jacques belted a lead-off home run in the eighth to propel the Le Moyne offense. On the bump, freshman southpaw Joe Vail hurled 5.0 innings of one-hit ball and freshman right-hander Sam Byrnes matched the effort throughout the final 4.0 frames.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose is scheduled to play its home opener Wednesday with a 3:00 pm non-league doubleheader versus Saint Joseph's (Vt.). Meanwhile, Le Moyne is off until next Saturday when it travels to Worcester to take on league rival Assumption for a noon twin-bill.
Notes: Senior third baseman Joe Foran has now reached base in 18 consecutive games after being hit by a pitch and drawing a walk today. Musk has now allowed only two earned runs throughout his last three appearances that encompass 21.0 innings of work.
