ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose scored three times in the ninth inning only to fall 7-4 to visiting
Northeast-10 Conference rival Adelphi tonight.
Â
The Panthers (16-11-1/7-5 NE10) scored four times in their half of the ninth to bust open a 3-1 game. However, the Golden Knights (10-15/3-7 NE10) hung tough to make it interesting before Adelphi recorded the final out to run its win streak to eight games.
Â
Senior third baseman
Joe Foran belted a two-run base hit in the ninth, while junior catcher
Nick Schaub finished 2-for-3 with a double to lead Saint Rose. Junior first baseman Thomas Colombo and junior left fielder Brandon Morse both finished with a pair of hits and two RBI to propel the Panthers.
Â
Looking ahead, the two teams are scheduled to complete their weekend series with a doubleheader tomorrow. First pitch for the opener is set for 1:00 pm.
