GRAHAM SETS PROGRAM RECORD IN 14-5 WIN AT POST

Scores Six Goals in Road Victory

WATERBURY, Conn. – Senior midfielder Matt Graham totaled four-straight goals in a 6:41 third quarter stretch to help The College of Saint Rose earn a 14-5 non-conference win at Post University on Tuesday afternoon. The Golden Knights (1-2) outscored Post 7-1 in the third quarter and 11-2 after intermission in their first win of the season. Graham finished with six goals on just nine shots to match Brett McAuliffe '14 (Roberts Wesleyan, 4/7/2012) for most by a Saint Rose player in a single-game. He now sits tied for second in program annals with 106 career points.

After sophomore attack Jordyn Marchiano plotted his second goal just 43 seconds into the third quarter, Graham took over. The Golden Knights co-captain converted a feed from freshman attack Jack Pemrick 70 seconds later. At the 4:57 mark, Graham finished off a Pemrick dish before scoring unassisted just 32 ticks after.

Following an Eagles tally, Saint Rose scored twice in 30 seconds. Sophomore defenseman Reed Chronis netted his first collegiate goal before Graham rocketed home his fifth of the quarter.

In addition to Chronis, numerous Golden Knights achieved collegiate firsts. Sophomore midfielder Kyle Gainer and freshman attack Liam Knehr netted their first goals as Golden Knights during a 3-3 first half. Pemrick had a pair of helpers and Knehr had one during the third quarter.

Junior attack Carter Badour added a goal and two assists, while freshman midfielder John Loughlin fired two into the net. The duo of junior midfielder Nicolas Johnson and senior midfielder Lucas Frese combined to win 16-of-22 face-offs. Johnson won eight of the nine that he took. Senior goalie Liam Guiton stopped 12 Eagle shots in goal.

The Eagles (0-4) received two goals from senior attack Frank Nichols Jr. and three assists from junior attack Sean Olsen.

Both teams have non-conference games later this week. The Golden Knights are scheduled to host Florida Southern on Friday at 3:00 pm. Post entertains Saint Anselm on Saturday at 3:30 pm.
