GOLDEN KNIGHTS WIN FOURTH STRAIGHT GAME

Saint Rose pounds out 16 hits to upend Paine College 10-2

AUGUSTA, Ga.–The College of Saint Rose pounded out 16 hits to run its win streak to four games with today's 10-2 triumph at Paine College. The Golden Knights (5-3) put themselves in control behind a six-run, first inning and opened up a 10-0 lead before the Lions (3-8) scored perfunctory runs in the seventh and ninth frames.

"This was another great team win. We pitched very well, swung the bats and played good defense. We have a lot of tough games this week and so it's nice to have gotten off to a great start," said head coach Wayne Jones.

Junior right-hander Stephen Hill allowed only an unearned run on two hits and fanned five in 7.0 innings of work to pick his first victory in a Saint Rose uniform.

Senior center fielder Brian Uliana and junior right fielder Kenny Fils-Aime led the offense. Uliana finished 4-for-5 with three RBI, while Fils-Aime went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored. Senior shortstop Mark Powell, junior first baseman Nicolas Teitter, and freshman third baseman Francisco Infante each had a pair of hits to help the cause.

Teitter stroked a two-run double while Fils-Aime, senior left fielder Matt McKinnon, and Uliana all added RBI base hits to highlight the Golden Knights first.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose has a 5:00 pm game at Winston-Salem State tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Lions host Lincoln University Thursday at 1:00 pm.
Notes: Powell and Uliana both have four multi-hit games on the year…The former has reached base in eight consecutive contests…The Golden Knights have outscored their opponents 48-8 and have posted a 1.41 ERA throughout their four-game win streak.
