VALIANT COMEBACK COMES UP SHORT AS SAINT ROSE FALLS TWICE AT WINSTON-SALEM STATE

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.–The College of Saint Rose scored seven runs in the top of the sixth inning after falling behind 12-0 in the nightcap of today's twin-bill, but host Winston-Salem State was able to hang on for a 13-9 victory. The host Rams (13-6) thus ran their win streak to eight games after taking the opener 5-2.

Senior catcher Tom Moore went 1-for 3 with a two double run down the left line in the second to account for the two of Golden Knights (5-5) runs in the matinee. Junior center fielder Randy Norris went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored to lead Winston-Salem State.

In the nightcap, junior first baseman Nicolas Teitter finished 3-for-4 with a run scored, senior third baseman Joe Foran went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and junior designated hitter Kenny Fils-Aime wound up 2-for-3 with a run scored as well. Furthermore, senor left fielder Matt McKinnon finished 2-for-2 with an RBI, while senior center fielder Brian Uliana drove in a pair of runs.

Norris and senior designated hitter John Garcia had three hits apiece and senior right fielder Brandon Ford drove in four runs for the Rams.
