GOLDEN KNIGHTS DROP A PAIR AT SAINT THOMAS AQUINAS

POMONA, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose were edged 2-1 in today's finale after dropping the opener of a twin-bill 17-1 at Saint Thomas Aquinas within Palisades Credit Union Park. The Spartans (17-7) pushed across five runs in the first inning of the opener and made a two-run, second frame stand up in the nightcap.

Junior right-hander Stephen Hill allowed just two runs on six hits throughout 7.0 innings of work in the second game, while junior designated hitter Kenny Fils-Aime doubled in three at-bats. Saint Thomas Aquinas senior right-hander Frankie Moscatiello scattered two hits in 8.0 innings of action to run his record to 4-0 on the year.

In the opener, senior shortstop Mark Powell doubled in the first and came around two batters later on a base hit off the bat of junior first baseman Nicolas Teitter. Fils-Aime finished 2-for-2 with a walk.

Junior center fielder Michael Morgan wound up 2-for-2 with a second inning, grand slam for the Spartans.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose is now scheduled to face #22 Le Moyne on Monday at Onondaga Community College. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 pm. Meanwhile, Saint Thomas Aquinas has a 3:30 pm date that afternoon at Kutztown.
