POMONA, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose were edged 2-1 in today's finale after dropping the opener of a twin-bill 17-1 at Saint Thomas Aquinas within Palisades Credit Union Park. The Spartans (17-7) pushed across five runs in the first inning of the opener and made a two-run, second frame stand up in the nightcap.

Junior right-hander
Stephen Hill allowed just two runs on six hits throughout 7.0 innings of work in the second game, while junior designated hitter
Kenny Fils-Aime doubled in three at-bats. Saint Thomas Aquinas senior right-hander Frankie Moscatiello scattered two hits in 8.0 innings of action to run his record to 4-0 on the year.

In the opener, senior shortstop
Mark Powell doubled in the first and came around two batters later on a base hit off the bat of junior first baseman
Nicolas Teitter. Fils-Aime finished 2-for-2 with a walk.

Junior center fielder Michael Morgan wound up 2-for-2 with a second inning, grand slam for the Spartans.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose is now scheduled to face #22 Le Moyne on Monday at Onondaga Community College. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 pm. Meanwhile, Saint Thomas Aquinas has a 3:30 pm date that afternoon at Kutztown.
Notes: Senior center fielder
Brian Uliana has hit safely in seven straight games while Hill has given up just three earned runs throughout his last two appearances that cover 13.0 innings of work.
