RINDGE, N.H.–The College of Saint Rose rallied from two down in the ninth and pushed across the winning run in the 11th inning to complete today's doubleheader sweep of
Northeast-10 Conference rival Saint Anselm at Pappas Field on the Franklin Pierce University campus. The Golden Knights won the opener 9-4 and took the finale 4-3.

"This was two great team wins. The guys showed the kind of toughness it will take to be successful in this league. I'm proud of the way we battled in tough conditions," said head coach
Wayne Jones.

Freshman third baseman
Francisco Infante doubled to left-center to lead off the 11th and then senior left fielder
Matt McKinnon laced a two-base hit down the left field line to score Infante with the winning run in the nightcap.

In the ninth, junior first baseman
Nicolas Teitter reached on a leadoff infield base hit and then Infante doubled to left to put a pair of runners in scoring position. Two batters later, senior center fielder
Brian Uliana singled up the middle to bring across Teitter and Infante.

Junior right-hander
Stephen Hill allowed a run on five hits throughout 6.0 innings on the bump, before senior right-handers
Dominic Razzano and
Caleb Gregg hurled 5.0 innings of two-hit ball out of the bullpen. Gregg picked up the win to improve to 2-1 this spring.

Uliana, Teitter, and Infante finished with two hits each, while sophomore second baseman
Andrew Pedone smacked an RBI double in the sixth to lead the Saint Rose offense.

In the opener, senior third baseman
Joe Foran went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and a pair of RBI to back junior left-hander
Greg Musk. Musk did not allow an earned run while giving up just four hits throughout 7.0 innings of work to go to 2-0 on the year. Senior right-hander
Alex Tomlinson surrendered one hit in 2.0 innings out of the bullpen to pick up the save.

Senior shortstop
Mark Powell went 2-for-5 with a double and a pair of runs scored, while junior right fielder
Alexander Koshgarian and junior designated hitter
Kenny Fils-Aime also had two hits apiece. Senior catcher
Tom Moore lined a two-run base hit in the third to afford the Golden Knights a 4-0 early lead.

Saint Rose then broke open a 4-4 game by scoring a pair of runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth. Foran belted a base up the middle and then scored on a wild pitch in the seventh. Pedone and Powell both drove in a run to account for most of the damage in the eighth.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose tentatively has a 3:30 pm league road game Wednesday at American International in Springfield. Meanwhile, the Hawks have a 7:00 pm conference game Tuesday versus Saint Michael's.
