SAINT ROSE SUFFERS A SECOND CONSECUTIVE DEFEAT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 2017-18

GARDEN CITY, N.Y.-The College of Saint Rose suffered its first consecutive loss this season following tonight's 88-62 setback at Northeast-10 Conference rival Adelphi.

The Golden Knights (16-7/11-7 NE10) were never able to recover from a 22-7 deficit in the opening eight minutes as the Panthers (9-16/4-12 NE10) shot 50.9 percent (29-for-57) from the floor, including 50.0 percent (14-for-28) from long range. They also turned 15 Saint Rose miscues into 27 points.

Senior forward Julian Lipinski led the Golden Knights with his fifth "double-double" of the year. Lipinski scored 13 points and hauled in 12 rebounds, while fellow senior forward Jack Jones jumped off the bench to toss in 15 points throughout 25 minutes off playing time. Senior guard Mical-Ryan Boyd also had 13 points.

Senior forward Terrel Marin-Garcia led four Adelphi twin figure scorers with 17 points and nine boards. Junior guard Tavon Ginyard had a game-high 21 in only 16 minutes of action.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose returns home Thursday to host league rival American International at 7:00 pm. Meanwhile, the Panthers host NE10 foe Pace University on Saturday at 3:30 pm.
Notes: Five players are averaging between 15.5 and 9.3 points on the year. Saint Rose has put five players in twin-figures scoring on four occasions and has had four drop in at least 10 points six other times. Furthermore, six players pulled off the feat in an 88-75 victory against visiting Southern New Hampshire on January 17. Boyd and Lipinski are the top point producers. Lipinski is scoring at a 13.4 ppg clip and is pulling down 7.1 rebounds on a regular basis. He is still second in the NE10 with 1.7 blocks and stands eighth in rebounding. Cerutti is sixth among the league leaders in rebounding (7.4). As a team, the Golden Knights are second in the NE10 in scoring defense (67.8.) and blocks (3.9), and are sixth in field goal percentage defense (43.5). The Golden Knights have won the turnover battle 14 times this season. They are 11-3 in those games and have a +1.3 turnover margin on the year.
