ALBANY-The College of Saint Rose was efficient again on its home floor throughout today's key 84-68 win against
Northeast-10 Conference rival New Haven. The game featured a pair of squads who entered the afternoon separated by a mere two losses near the top of the Southwest Division standings.

The Golden Knights (18-7/13-4 NE10) put 11 players in the scoring column while shooting 53.3 percent (32-for-60) from the floor and outrebounding the Chargers by a 36-25 margin. Saint Rose also got 32 points from its bench.

"All of our guys played with a lot of energy and focus. We did a really nice job defensively and disrupted a lot of their actions. We were solid on both ends," said assistant coach

Senior guard
Mical-Ryan Boyd scored 11 of his 16 points after halftime to lead the Golden Knights. Senior forward
Julian Lipinski finished with 13, while senior guard
Jamaal Greenwood added 12.

Sophomore guard Elijah Bailey and senior guard Danny Upchurch tossed in 19 and 16 points respectively for the Chargers (14-9/11-7 NE10) who arrived in the Capital Region having won four their previous five outings.

Saint Rose put itself in the driver's seat midway through the opening stanza with a 23-2 jaunt that transformed a one point, 13-12, deficit into a 20 point, 35-15, cushion with 4:28 left until the break. The Golden Knights eventually boosted their advantage to as high as 26 points following a pair of Boyd free throws with 9:35 remaining in the game.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose travels to Springfield on Wednesday for a 7:30 pm league meeting at American International. Meanwhile, New Haven is back home Tuesday for a 7:00 pm non-conference game with Bloomfield.
Notes: The Golden Knights are averaging 81.8 points on 50.4 percent shooting (353-for-700) throughout their 12 home games this year. Saint Rose shot above 50.0 percent from the floor today for the ninth time this season. It is 9-0 throughout those games. Five players are averaging between 15.1 and 9.5 points on the year. The Golden Knights have put five players in twin-figures scoring on four occasions and have had four drop in at least 10 points six other times. Furthermore, six players pulled off the feat in an 88-75 victory against visiting Southern New Hampshire on January 17. Boyd and Lipinski are the top point producers. Lipinski is scoring at a 13.4 ppg clip and is pulling down 6.9 rebounds on a regular basis. He is still second in the NE10 with 1.7 blocks and stands ninth in rebounding. Junior forward
Matt Cerutti is sixth among the league leaders in rebounding (7.2). As a team, the Golden Knights are second in the NE10 in scoring defense (68.6) and blocks (3.8), and are fourth in field goal percentage defense (43.5). The Golden Knights have won the turnover battle 15 times this season. They are 12-3 in those games and have a +1.4 turnover margin on the year.
